During aerobic metabolism, fully oxidizing 1 gram of glucose can produce 38 ATP (energy units); during anaerobic glycolysis, 1 gram of glucose only produces 2 ATP. During aerobic exercise, glucose is metabolized into water and carbon dioxide, which can be easily excreted from the body through breathing and are harmless to the human body. However, during fermentation, a large amount of intermediate metabolites such as pyruvate and lactic acid are produced, which cannot be eliminated through respiration. These acidic products accumulate in cells and blood and become "fatigue toxins", which can make people feel tired and weak, have muscle aches, and cause rapid breathing and heartbeat and arrhythmia. In severe cases, acidosis can occur and the burden on the liver and kidneys can be increased. Therefore, after anaerobic exercise, people will always feel exhausted, and the muscle pain will last for several days before disappearing. Light exercise is not aerobic exercise and cannot achieve the purpose of exercise. Only aerobic exercise that reaches a certain intensity can exercise the cardiopulmonary circulation function, improve people's physical strength, endurance and metabolic potential, and is the most valuable exercise.
