Can yoga correct leg shape?

Can yoga correct leg shape?

Some people have ugly legs due to congenital or acquired reasons, such as O-shaped legs. Such leg shape not only affects their growth and development, but also makes them look not so beautiful when walking. Some people have X-shaped legs. No matter which leg shape it is, it needs to be corrected. Many people think that there is no way to correct the leg shape correctly. In fact, even the yoga movements we often talk about can correct the leg shape.

The ground is in contact with the body, supporting the weight of the body.

If you tend to use force on the outside of your foot and turn your feet inward when walking or standing, look at your heels. If you find that the outside of your heels are always more worn, it means that you put your center of gravity on the outside of your foot most of the time. Over time, your legs will naturally turn outward, forming O-shaped legs.

On the contrary, if the arch on the inside of your foot is collapsed, you have flat feet, or you have hallux valgus and tend to walk outward, and when you look at the heel, you find that the inside is always more worn, it means that you put your center of gravity on the inside of your foot most of the time. If you do this for a long time, it will easily lead to X-shaped legs.

Therefore, if you want to improve your leg shape, you must start by changing the force applied to your feet.

Our feet are the foundation of our body. Among all the yoga poses, the first one we learn is the standing mountain pose. Although it seems simple, it is really not easy to do. The most important part is to find the four foundation points under your feet. On the heel of the big toe, the heel of the little toe, the outside of the heel and the inside of the heel respectively. When these four points press down evenly and bear the weight of the body, the foundation of the body is the most solid and correct.

If it is an O-shaped leg, it means that the base points on the inside of the feet are under less force, while for an X-shaped leg, it means that the base points on the outside of the feet are under less force. First, improve the weight of the force points under your feet to make them basically the same. Then, starting from the knee joint, tighten and lift the muscles of the front, back, inside and outside of your thighs. After practicing for a period of time, not only will your leg shape improve, but your thighs will also become firmer and slimmer.

However, we need to choose different exercises according to our different leg shapes, because they are all targeted. If you have O-shaped legs, then the supporting ability of our legs will not be so strong. So if you want to change your leg shape, you first need to change the force points of your feet. In this way, we can ensure the balance of our body and not lose our center of gravity.
