Does an over the shoulder throw require a lot of strength?

To do an over-the-shoulder throw, use your right or left hand to grab the opponent's wrist or elbow in the opposite direction, then quickly cut in, use your hips to push against the opponent's waist, pull the opponent towards you, and then use the principle of leverage to throw the opponent out from behind you. A skillful over-the-shoulder throw does not actually require a lot of strength; instead, it does require skill to do the over-the-shoulder throw.

1. Turn your right foot forward and push your right foot to the inside of the right foot of the person receiving the force, and release the right hand that is holding the left lapel of the person receiving the force. Then, pass near the right chest of the person receiving the force, and then lift and insert it from below through the right armpit.

2. With your right foot as the axis, open your body to the left, turn your left foot and move it, then keep it close to your body.

3. Hold the right hand near the right shoulder of the person receiving the force (or place it close to the person receiving the force), and lift the right shoulder of the person receiving the force.

4. Straighten your knees, then bend your upper body forward and throw the opponent down with your right shoulder. (The right shoulder should be inserted into the armpit of the person receiving the force as much as possible, and then the pulling force of the left hand should be strengthened to leave no gap, and the right arm of the person receiving the force should be lifted. If the body is too relaxed, the body cannot be closely attached and cannot carry the opponent on the back. The body position, direction, and throwing techniques between the attacker and the person receiving the force are the same as those of the two-handed back throw. If the back throw is performed, when the person receiving the force leans back to defend, the attacker should quickly move down, and then just throw the opponent as if pulling him down. This technique is called back throw)

Over-the-shoulder throws do not require much strength, as Judo is all about using a little force to achieve a great effect, and does not require too much of one's own strength. When doing an over the shoulder throw, the most important thing is that you squat low. If the high stance doesn't work, use a low stance, which is easier. Your shoulders should be aligned with the opponent's shoulders, the rake should be widened, your steps should not be in an "eight" shape, and you should stand on tiptoe when squatting.
