Can swimming really help you lose weight?

As we all know, swimming is a sport. In fact, swimming has many benefits for the human body. Swimming can exercise the strength of your limbs and also enhance your physical fitness. Therefore, even for children, it is recommended that they participate in swimming. This can prevent the occurrence of many diseases. And for adults, swimming also has the effect of losing weight.

1. Swimming to lose weight

When a person swims in water, his arms paddle the water while his legs kick or push the water. All muscle groups in the body participate in the exercise, which can give the muscles of the whole body a good workout. In addition, when swimming, because the density of water (in other words, resistance) and heat transfer performance are greater than those of air (the thermal conductivity coefficient of water is 26 times greater than that of air, which means that at the same temperature, the human body loses heat in water more than 20 times faster than in air, which can effectively consume heat), the body consumes more energy when moving in water than on land. The supply of energy is replenished by consuming sugar and fat in the body. Regular swimming can gradually remove excess body fat without becoming obese.

2. After entering the water, immediately find the comfort of floating your body. Middle-aged or elderly people or those with weak constitutions should use minimal movements to maintain floating movements. They can use both hands to paddle, regulate their breathing, close their eyes as if they are about to fall asleep, and they can get out of the water immediately when they are suddenly awakened or open their eyes on their own. When exiting the water, move slowly, feel the weight of your body in the water, and compare the feeling of floating in the water with the feeling of gravity on land. Some people who are physically strong find it difficult to experience this feeling. In that case, they can swim for a distance with a low movement frequency, so as not to speed up their heartbeat, because this will easily eliminate the feeling that has already occurred. After using this method to lose weight for a few days, the bloated belly felt relieved, but the weight loss was very small. If you persist in swimming for 3-5 months, eat in moderation, and walk 1-2 kilometers every day, your weight will naturally come down slowly.

No matter which method of weight loss you choose, persistence is the key. Although swimming has many benefits and can help with weight loss, women are very concerned about their body shape. However, if you don't persist, there is still a possibility of a rebound effect. I hope I can persist in swimming more often to exercise my body, which is good for my health.
