For some obese people, drinking water after exercise always worries that they will get fatter. So will drinking water after exercise cause obesity? In fact, the answer is no. Drinking water after exercise will not make you fat

The first thing you need to make sure of is that the building blocks of fat are glycerol and fatty acids. In other words, without these two things, fat will not be formed and you will not gain weight. Water provides neither of these things.

Additionally, fat is a fuel that provides you with energy. You might say that it is possible that water is converted into fat in the human body. But please think about it, if a person only drinks water and doesn’t eat, will he (she) have the energy to do other things? I'm afraid it's difficult to even breathe.

Therefore, the conversion of water into fat does not exist. In other words, the amount of water consumed after exercise has nothing to do with weight gain.

The amount of water you drink varies from person to person. To avoid discomfort, it is best to drink water 10 to 20 minutes before exercise and replenish it within 5 minutes after exercise. However, after exercise, you should not drink a large amount of water at once. It should be less than 800cc to avoid poor stomach absorption. When drinking water during exercise, you should drink it in time before you feel thirsty. Don't wait until you feel thirsty, when your blood concentration increases, electrolyte imbalance or discomfort occurs, it will be too late. Especially when exercising and sweating a lot, you should replenish your water in time.

Sports drinks should be consumed less unless you are too tired, because they contain potassium and sodium. Stimulating drinks such as tea and coffee should be avoided after exercise. Although distilled water is clean, it does not contain minerals. If you sweat too much, you can add a little salt to facilitate metabolism. Carbonated drinks such as soda and cola are actually not suitable for drinking. It is best not to drink ice water to avoid damaging the lungs and trachea. It is also not suitable for warm internal organs such as the esophagus, stomach and other digestive organs.

From the above introduction, we can see that drinking water after exercise will not cause obesity, but it should be noted that if you cannot drink water immediately after strenuous exercise, if you drink a large amount of water at once, it will easily lead to poor gastric absorption. Therefore, it is best to drink in small sips and supplement with some light salt water.
