What are the equestrian sports skills for teenagers?

Equestrianism is a sport that many young people like. During the process of riding, we can enjoy the fun of riding and also exercise our body. It is especially good for bone development. Teenagers need to master certain skills in equestrian sports to ensure their health and safety. So what are the equestrian sports skills for teenagers!

Don't let your seat push forward

Many riders push their seat forward too hard. They thought this would help the horse's hind drive forward. A medium-sized horse weighs about 1,500 pounds, so it is difficult for the rider to have any effect by pushing the mount. Pushing the seat will cause the rider's muscles to tighten, which will hinder the horse's movement and may make the horse uncomfortable and refuse to obey.

Sitting deep in the saddle

The deepest part of the saddle is just behind the pommel, which is also the part of the horse's body where the bones are the strongest, and this part of the horse's back has the lightest bounce. Sitting in this position is very important, and actually getting it right sometimes requires very subtle adjustments that can feel strange at first.

We tend to end up sitting back in the saddle because we push too hard in the pedals or because we don't keep up with the horse's movements in the trot and canter. Remember to focus on moving your center of mass (meaning your whole body) forward with the horse.

Let your elbows drop below your shoulders.

In classical riding, the center of the elbow drop is below the shoulder. In this position, the rider's arm acts like a soft spring, continuing to maintain contact with the mouthpiece. Arms that are too straight will have their flexibility greatly reduced. If your hands and elbows are too far forward it will cause an imbalance in your body and allow the horse's front to be too free, which can put you in danger of falling off the horse.

People often talk about riding a horse with a mount, and if your elbows and hands are positioned correctly relative to your body, the horse will always feel your mount without you having to do anything.

Nowadays, material life has greatly improved, and more and more people are accepting sports like equestrianism. After my explanation, I believe that everyone has a better understanding of the skills of youth equestrian sports. I hope that everyone can master these skills and ensure their personal safety during the exercise to provide protection for their own life safety.
