What is anaerobic exercise?

I believe everyone is familiar with anaerobic exercise. It is a common form of exercise in daily life. Anaerobic exercise is a concept relative to aerobic exercise. It generally refers to sports that require instantaneous bursts of energy. For example, common high jump, long jump, sprinting, and push-ups are all anaerobic exercises. Next, I will introduce you to the relevant knowledge of anaerobic exercise in detail!

1. Introduction to anaerobic exercise

Anaerobic exercise refers to the high-speed and intense movement of muscles in a state of "oxygen deprivation". Most anaerobic exercises are high-intensity and instantaneous, so they are difficult to sustain for a long time and fatigue is eliminated slowly.

Common anaerobic exercises include: sprinting, weightlifting, throwing, high jump, long jump, tug of war, push-ups, diving, muscle strength training (prolonged muscle contraction), etc.

2. Characteristics of anaerobic exercise

Anaerobic exercise is relative to aerobic exercise. During exercise, the body's metabolism is accelerated, and accelerated metabolism requires more energy. The human body's energy is obtained through the metabolism of sugar, protein and fat in the body. When the amount of exercise is not large, such as jogging, dancing, etc., the body's energy supply mainly comes from the aerobic metabolism of sugar. Exercise that uses aerobic metabolism of sugar as the main source of energy is what we call aerobic exercise. When we engage in very intense or rapid sports, such as weightlifting, 100-meter sprint, wrestling, etc., the body needs a large amount of energy in an instant. Under normal circumstances, aerobic metabolism cannot meet the body's needs at this time, so sugar undergoes anaerobic metabolism to quickly produce a large amount of energy. Exercise in this state is anaerobic exercise.

3. Anaerobic exercise training methods

Anaerobic energy supply cannot be sustained for long periods of time. However, boxers, martial arts masters, judo masters, etc. can create a level of anaerobic muscle energy supply that ordinary people cannot understand. They all go through long hours of practice and constantly replenish the elements needed for their muscles. Of course, we also have to consider innate factors (after all, those people are talented), but we can't be impatient. The degree can only be gradually deepened, otherwise we will get injured (muscles recover very slowly after anaerobic energy supply).
