How to tie a bandage in Sanda

When we watch Sanda competitions, we will inadvertently find some boxers taking off their gloves, revealing bandages wrapped around their hands. These bandages are actually specially designed for Sanda. By wrapping the Sanda bandage, boxers can avoid hand bone fractures during Sanda competitions or Sanda training, and can improve the boxer's hand's ability to resist and withstand blows. Here we will introduce how to wrap a Sanda bandage.

Put the buckle on your thumb, then follow the thumb around the back of your hand and wrap it around the wrist, then wrap it around your thumb, then move the bandage to the back of your hand through the little finger, the palm, and the base of your thumb, start wrapping it around your index finger, then wrap it around your middle finger from the base of your thumb, pull the bandage out from the intersection of your index finger and middle finger, and wrap it from the back of your hand to your ring finger, pull the bandage out from the connection between your ring finger and middle finger and wrap it around your little finger, pull the bandage out from the connection between your little finger and ring finger, and then wrap it around the outside of your little finger, the palm, the base of your thumb, and the back of your hand one or two times (depending on the length of your bandage).

Wrap the bandage around your thumb (if the bandage is not long enough, you don’t have to wrap it around your thumb), then pull it through the back of your hand and the outside of your little finger to your wrist and wrap it around twice. Just stick or tie the bandage on. (Note that when wrapping your fingers, you should unfold and flatten the bandage to cover the knuckles. This has the benefit of fixing the knuckles). The feeling of hitting the sandbag with a bandage wrapped around it is different, and you can feel the power of your fist more. There are many details in this tying method. You have to try it slowly by yourself. Everyone has different details.

Generally speaking, the length of the bandage used in Sanda is about three meters. In fact, no matter whether it is a Sanda boxer, a Muay Thai boxer, or a European and American boxer, they will stand with bandages wrapped around them during competitions or training. In addition to preventing fractures, this kind of bandage can also make the boxer's palms feel tighter, allowing the boxer to punch more cleanly and with more power.
