What are the essentials of diving?

Swimming regularly can make your body more symmetrical, more beautiful, and healthier. Some people want to better exercise their lung capacity, and to be able to swim freely underwater like a fish, and even dance with the fish, so they want to learn diving. So, what should you do when diving? What should you pay attention to?

Diving technique

Scuba diving is a swimming style in which the body is underwater without breathing. There are two types of diving: deep diving and long diving. There are many diving postures, but most of them only use breaststroke (commonly used by amateurs) and butterfly stroke (commonly used by professionals). Here we only introduce the technique of breaststroke front stroke.

Body posture

Breaststroke requires that the torso and head remain level at all times, but the head should be slightly lowered when the arms begin to stroke to prevent the body from floating up.

Leg movements

The leg movements in underwater swimming are only slightly different from those in breaststroke, that is, there is less hip flexion when pulling the legs in, and the angle at which the legs are separated to the sides is smaller.

Arm movements

1. Rowing action: The rowing action of diving is similar to that of butterfly stroke, except that the distance between the two palms is slightly larger, and the direction of palm rotation does not change much, almost completely perpendicular to the water surface.

2. Arm moving movement: When the stroke is finished and has glided for a while, both hands rotate outward from both sides of the thighs, extend forward along the abdomen and chest, and when they are under the head, the palms begin to rotate inward, turn the palms downward, and straighten in front of the head, preparing for the next stroke.

Arm and leg coordinated movements

When and after the arms are paddling, the legs are naturally straightened and brought together, making gliding movements in the water. When moving your arms, pull your legs in, move your arms to your chest and stretch them forward while pushing your legs, and the push ends when your arms are straight.

Please note that you need to hold your breath when diving, so you must be careful to do it within your ability and not to show off, so as to avoid danger. And when diving, be sure to do warm-up exercises to avoid accidents in the water. Once an accident occurs in the water, it is often life-threatening.
