What are the combat wrestling positions?

Combat wrestling is a very popular sport. This popularity does not mean that there are a large number of spectators, but that the scene of the fight between the two sides is very intense and even a little bloody. However, for some people with a strong temperament, combat wrestling is a very suitable sport for them. As long as they practice more often, it can help to strengthen their body. So what is the actual fighting stance for someone who practices combat-style wrestling?

Combat posture

In this section we will talk about practical postures. The actual combat posture is also often called the preparatory posture or the fighting posture, which is the pre-combat exercise posture adopted before a fight. It not only puts the body in a strong state, but also has the best quick response ability, which is conducive to fast movement to launch offense and defense, and has a small exposed area, which can effectively protect one's vital parts.

The actual combat posture is divided into left combat posture and right combat posture. Take the left combat stance as an example: Stand with your feet apart, with the distance between your front heel and back toes approximately shoulder width. Place the entire sole of your left foot on the ground, slightly lift your right heel, place the forefoot on the ground, bend both knees slightly and naturally buckle them inward, move the body's center of gravity to the right, tuck in your chest, tighten your abdomen, and twist your hips. Bend your left arm inward about 90 degrees, and keep your fist parallel to the tip of your nose. Bend your right arm inward about 45 degrees, place your fist in front of your neck, let your elbows hang naturally and slightly inward, retract your chin, and look at the other person's upper body.

footwork

The second part is footwork. Footwork is the method of moving the body forward, backward, left and right in free-hand fighting. Flexible and agile footwork is not only the key to adjusting the center of gravity and maintaining body balance, but also the basic footwork to occupy advantageous positions and exert the best offensive momentum in offense and defense. Careful study and practice are important links in improving actual combat capabilities. The following steps are all based on the left combat stance.

Progress: Lift your left foot, move forward, and quickly push off the ground with your right foot, following the same distance.

Step back: Take a step back with your right foot, push the ground hard with your left foot, and quickly step back the same distance.

Side step: Take a step to the left with your left foot, push off the ground with the inside of your right ankle, and quickly step to the left the same distance.

Inward step: Twist the front of the left foot in place or step to the left, then lean the body to the left, quickly follow with the right foot to the left front, and turn the body about 90 degrees to the right.

Cover step: Step forward with the right foot in front of the left foot, with toes turned outward and the legs crossed. Then step forward with the left foot and return to the actual combat stance.

Step forward: Step forward with the right foot behind the left foot, with the heel off the ground and the legs slightly crossed. Then step forward with the left foot and return to the actual combat stance.

Step forward: Push the ground with your right foot and bring it closer to your left foot. At the same time, bend your left knee, lift it up and step forward to return to the actual combat stance.

Striking step: Jump up with both feet, then land on the left foot, then lift the right knee and step down, returning to the actual combat stance.

Changing steps: The front foot and the back foot push off the ground at the same time and exchange back and forth. At the same time, the two fists also exchange back and forth to form a right combat stance.

Individual practice of footwork. After learning a footwork, you must practice it repeatedly on your own to find the key points, become familiar with the technique and gradually transition from individual practice to continuous practice. Comprehensive practice of various footwork. After you become proficient in practicing a footwork individually, you can combine several footwork together for comprehensive practice.

Combined with signal exercises, the coach uses the direction of the palm or the back of the palm or a prescribed signal to require the practitioner to make corresponding steps. This kind of exercise can not only consolidate the footwork technique, but also improve reaction ability. Two people practice together, with one person using a variety of footwork, moving and retreating, etc., while the other person makes corresponding moves to keep the distance between the two parties as constant as possible.

Practice combined with offensive and defensive movements: 1. Practice footwork in combination with various offensive and defensive movements to improve overall coordination and cooperation to meet the needs of actual combat; 2. Paired practice, requiring one party to attack with a single move or a combination of moves, while the other party moves to get rid of it and looks for opportunities to counterattack, to improve the effectiveness of footwork.

If you are practicing at home, it is better to choose other forms of exercise. After all, this kind of combat wrestling requires professional training. If you train randomly, you may hurt yourself and your sparring partners. If you really like this kind of competitive sports, you can also practice Taekwondo or Sanda, which are both very good.
