How to breathe while practicing yoga?

Yoga is a very hot topic now. Many people know that practicing yoga has many benefits to the human body, but there are many things to pay attention to when practicing yoga. Except for some special circumstances, yoga breathing techniques are usually performed through the nostrils, because "breathing" is the breath that goes in and out of the nostrils. Therefore, the first basic method that you must know when practicing yoga is breathing. So, how do you breathe in yoga?

According to the "breathing philosophy" of yoga, if we can breathe completely, we can absorb as much "prana" as possible, which can control the body and increase the spirit, and is called the vital element. In other words, it delivers vitality into the body in its original form, rejuvenates the body and fully generates energy. Specifically, practicing the complete breathing method of yoga can help you stay young forever!

Dantian location: about three finger widths below the navel

To practice full breathing while lying down:

1. Open your legs about 30 cm

2. Place your hands comfortably beside your hips, palms facing up.

When practicing full breathing while seated:

1. Sit cross-legged in the most comfortable position

2. Keep your back straight

3. Place your thumb and index finger together to form a circle, and straighten the other three fingers and place them on your knees.

Inhale: Air is inhaled through the nasal cavity, and the feeling passes through the throat, trachea, lungs, and chest cavity directly to the Dantian, which can stimulate the sympathetic nerves and cause the blood vessels and glands to contract.

Exhale: Feel the air in your Dantian pushing upwards, and letting it out from Dantian, chest, lungs, trachea, throat, and nasal cavity. Relax your whole body. This can stimulate the parasympathetic nerves, causing the blood vessels and glands to dilate (Note: inhale gently, exhale slowly, inhale short and exhale longer).

Stop: hold your breath. When you inhale the air into Dantian or exhale all the air, hold your breath, contract your abdomen, contract your anus, and clamp your buttocks. Women should also close their vagina. This can help stabilize your emotions and increase your physical strength.

Yoga exercises may seem soft and gentle, but in fact, a lot of heat energy is consumed during the stretching and muscle-stretching process, so it is necessary to practice step by step, which means that warm-up exercises must be done sufficiently. When you formally practice yoga movements, your bones, muscles and tendons will not be injured due to stiffness. Everyone must pay attention to their breathing method when practicing.
