Can I practice yoga while preparing for pregnancy?

When doing yoga, you must pay attention to the relevant taboos. For example, when your emotions are fluctuating greatly, it is best not to practice yoga. Doing yoga at this time is actually a very painful thing. Secondly, if you feel muscle soreness after practicing yoga, it may be that you are not suitable for doing yoga, or the yoga movements are incorrect, etc. Women also have many things to pay attention to when preparing for pregnancy. So can they practice yoga at this time?

Can I practice yoga while preparing for pregnancy?

1. Avoid doing Ashtanga Yoga

Ashtanga Yoga emphasizes the combined application of "throat, navel, and perineum". It focuses on the development and training of strength, flexibility, and endurance, especially strength and endurance. It is one of the most intense types of yoga. Although it can improve the body's circulatory system and regulate the body and mind, expectant mothers should avoid doing these high-intensity yoga movements to avoid affecting fetal implantation.

2. Avoid doing hot yoga

Also known as hot yoga, it is doing yoga in a high temperature environment of 38℃-40℃. Performing yoga in this environment will reduce the chance of injury and eliminate body tension. However, it is of no benefit to women who are preparing for pregnancy. In a high temperature environment, blood vessels will automatically contract to lower body temperature, leading to premature birth and increasing the chance of miscarriage. Therefore, women who are preparing for pregnancy should not practice hot yoga.

3. Avoid doing power yoga

As the name suggests, it is a type of yoga that requires vigorous vinyasa postures. Most women learn power yoga to lose weight and improve body strength and flexibility. When preparing for pregnancy, practicing strength yoga will consume too much physical energy, and some large-amplitude movements will affect fetal implantation, such as stretching the legs, splits, and bending down, which will all press on the abdomen. Some movements are supported by abdominal strength, which will have a certain impact on the fetus. Moreover, after practicing power yoga and consuming physical energy, you will become tired during conception, and the quality of your eggs will be low, which will make you lose your ability to get pregnant.

In fact, please note that you can practice yoga during the preparation period for pregnancy. Generally speaking, you can do appropriate exercise during the preparation period for pregnancy or during pregnancy. Yoga, jogging, swimming, and walking are all fine as long as they are not strenuous exercises that are not conducive to the baby's safe fetus.
