After running, I feel that my calf muscles are particularly tight and sore. Because our calves and thighs are under great pressure when we run, we need to do some simple stretching exercises after running to help relax our calves and thighs. Even if they lose weight successfully, they will still be left with ugly big and thick legs, which will be particularly ugly when wearing shorts and skirts. Then, stretching exercises are needed to prevent your calves from becoming thicker. Here are some stretching exercises you can do after running.

Just like warming up before running, stretching exercises after running are also an important part of running. Doing some proper stretching exercises can reduce muscle stiffness and pain. "Static stretching" is the most effective way of stretching after running. The so-called "static stretching" means: letting the body make stretching movements and keep still for more than 30 seconds.

Why do you need to stretch after running?

If you stop running suddenly, your muscles will stop moving immediately, but your heart cannot adapt quickly to this change. The heart will continue to pump blood quickly, causing blood to accumulate in the legs and depriving other parts of the body, such as the brain, of blood. This is why some people feel dizzy after long runs. If you do stretching exercises, such as a relaxing jog or walk for about five to ten minutes, you can gradually return your heart rate to a resting level. Generally speaking, the more energy you expend while running, the more your body needs to relax.

The stretching exercises introduced above can be done after running. When we run, the calf muscles are in a tense state. If we do not relax the muscles properly after each run, these muscles will be concentrated on the calves. Over time, ugly thick legs will appear.
