Badminton is a very popular sport, especially in summer. There are badminton courts in many communities, and you can often see people playing badminton. It not only exercises the body, but also makes the body sweat a lot and increases endocrine metabolism. Many children also like to play badminton, so everyone should understand the new rules of badminton so that they can better improve their badminton skills. The new badminton rules explain in detail the various system details, allowing us to better distinguish the scoring situation during daily practice. Even if it is not a formal competition, it allows us to exercise more standardizedly while practicing. If you need to play a game, you must remember the new badminton rules more firmly, so as not to lose a lot of points due to fouls. Let me introduce the new badminton rules below. rule Scoring (1) Similar to the previous table tennis scoring method, the 21-point system is used, that is, the first team to reach 21 points wins, and the game is best 2 out of 3. In each round, if the two sides are tied at 20, the side that is 2 points ahead wins the round; if the two sides are tied at 29, if one side is 1 point ahead, it wins the round. (2) Under the new system, each ball scores a point, and except in special circumstances (such as a wet floor or a broken ball), players can no longer request to interrupt the game. However, when one side leads by 11 points in each game, the game will be suspended for one minute to allow both sides to wipe sweat, drink water, etc. (3) The team that scores the points has the right to serve. If the team scores an odd number of points, it serves from the left; if the team scores an even number of points, it serves from the right. In the third game or a game that only lasts one game, when one side reaches 11 points first, the two sides exchange courts. Position singles (1) When the server’s score is 0 or an even number, both players shall serve or receive the serve in their respective right service courts. (2) When the server’s score is an odd number, both players should serve or receive the serve in their respective left service courts. (3) If the game is replayed, the server shall determine his position based on the total score of the game. If the total score is 15 points (odd number), both players should serve or receive serve in their respective left service areas; if the total score is 16 points (even number), both players should serve or receive serve in their respective right service areas. (4) After the ball is served, the players are no longer restricted to the serving area and are free to hit the ball to any position in the opponent's court. The players may stand inside or outside the boundaries of their own court. Doubles (1) At the start of a game, the serve shall begin from the right serving court. (2) Only the receiver may receive the serve; if his partner goes to receive the ball or is touched by the ball, the serving player scores a point. ① When the serving side scores 0 or an even number, the player standing on the right side of the serving side should serve, and the player standing on the right side of the receiving side should receive the serve; when the serving side scores an odd number, the player standing in the left serving area should serve or receive the serve. ② The player who receives the serve first at the beginning of each game must receive or serve in the right serving area when his or her team scores 0 or an even number in that game; when the score is an odd number, he or she should receive or serve in the left serving area. ③The above two opposite forms of standing apply to their companions. (3) In any game, if the server loses the right to serve and the opponent scores a point, the right to serve is passed to one of their opponents. Note that the four players on both sides do not need to change their positions at this time. (4) Athletes must not make serving errors, receiving errors, or serve twice in the same game. (5) Any player on the winning side of a game may serve first in the next game, and any player on the losing side may receive serve first. (6) Once the ball is served, it is no longer restricted to the serving area. Players can stand freely in their own court and hit the ball to any position in the opponent's court. Contest (1) Exchange area ① Athletes should switch courts in the following situations: 1. The first game ends. 2. The third game begins. 3. In the third game or a one-game match, when one side reaches 11 points. ② If an athlete fails to exchange courts according to the above rules, he/she shall exchange courts immediately upon discovery and the points already obtained shall be valid. (2) Legal serve: ① Neither side is allowed to illegally delay serving when serving. ② Both the server and the receiver must stand in the diagonal serving area to serve and receive the serve, and their feet cannot touch the boundaries of the serving area; both feet must have part of their feet in contact with the ground and must not move until the ball is served. ③The server's racket must hit the butt of the ball first, and at the same time the entire ball must be below the server's waist. ④ At the moment of hitting the ball, the cue should point downward so that the entire ball frame is significantly lower than the server's entire gripping hand. ⑤ After the serve begins, the server's racket must swing forward continuously until the ball is served. ⑥ The served ball must fly upward over the net and, if not intercepted, fall into the receiver's serving area. (3) Badminton Violations ① The serve is illegal. ②The server fails to hit the ball when serving. ③ When serving, the ball hangs on the net or stops on the top of the net after passing the net. ④During the game: 1. The ball falls outside the sideline of the court. 2. The ball passes through the net or under the net. 3. The ball does not pass the net. 4. The ball hits the roof, ceiling or surrounding walls. 5. The ball hits the player's body or clothes. 6. The ball hits other people or objects outside the venue (due to structural problems of buildings, local badminton organizations can formulate temporary regulations on badminton hitting buildings when necessary, but their national organizations have the right to veto). ⑤ During the game, the initial contact point of the racket or the ball is not on the hitter's side of the net (after the hitter hits the ball, the racket can pass over the net with the ball). ⑥ During the game: 1. The athlete's racket, body or clothes touch the net or the net's support. 2. The player's racket or body invades the opponent's court to any extent. 3. Hindering the opponent, such as blocking the opponent's legal shot close to the net. ⑦ During the competition, any action taken by an athlete to intentionally distract the other party, such as shouting, making gestures, etc. ⑧During the game: 1. When hitting the ball, the ball is clamped or stagnant on the racket and then dragged. 2. The same athlete hits the ball twice in succession with two swings of the racket. 3. Two players from the same side hit the ball once consecutively. 4. The ball hits the racket and continues to fly to the backcourt. ⑨The athlete violates the rules of game continuity. ⑩ Athletes misbehave. (4) Re-serve ① In case of unforeseen or unexpected circumstances, the serve should be repeated. ② Except for serving, if the ball hangs on the net or stops on the top of the net after passing the net, the serve should be repeated. ③ When serving, if both the server and the receiver commit violations at the same time, the serve should be repeated. ④ If the server serves when the receiver is not ready, the serve should be repeated. ⑤ During the game, if the ball holder is completely separated from the other parts of the ball, the serve should be repeated. ⑥ When the linesman does not see clearly where the ball lands and the referee cannot make a decision, the serve should be repeated. ⑦ When “re-serving”, the last serve is invalid and the original server serves again. (5) Dead ball ①The ball hits the net and hangs on it, or stops on top of it. ② After the ball hits the net or net post, it starts to fall to the ground on the hitting side. ③The ball touches the ground. ④ "Violation" or "Re-serve". (6) Wrong service area ① The serving order is wrong. ② Serving from the wrong serving area. ③ Preparing to receive the serve in the wrong serving area and the opponent's ball has already been served. (7) Wrong refereeing method in the service area ① If the error is discovered before the next serve is hit, the serve should be repeated; if only one side makes the error and loses the round, the error will not be corrected. ② If the error is not discovered before the next serve is hit, the error will not be corrected. ③ If the serve is re-taken due to an error in the serving area, the round will be invalid and the error must be corrected and the serve must be re-taken. ④ If the serving area error is not corrected, the game should continue without changing the athlete's new serving area and new serving order. (8) Out of bounds during a match The sideline for singles is the one inside the boundary. The sideline in doubles is the outermost line. The front service line in singles is the front line. The back service line is the baseline. The serve is valid only if it is between these two lines. The front serve line in doubles is the same as that in singles, which is the front line, and the back serve line is the line in front of the baseline. The serve is valid only if it is between these two lines. A badminton racket should have 16 feathers fixed in the racket base, with a length of 64 to 70 mm. However, the length of each racket's feathers from the racking surface to the feather tip should be consistent. The top of the feathers is round with a diameter of 58 mm to 68 mm, the diameter of the ball head is 25 mm to 28 mm, the bottom is round, and the badminton weighs 4.6 grams to 5.50 grams. For balls that are not made of feathers, we require them to be made into a skirt shape, and the difference in quality and performance must not exceed 10%. The ball used in the game must be inspected before use. The correct method is: stand at the end line, hit the ball with your low hand forward and upward with all your strength, and the direction of the ball's flight should be parallel to the sideline. A qualified ball should fall between 53 and 99 centimeters from the opponent's end line. referee Duties of the referee and handling of appeals ① The chief referee is fully responsible for the competition. ② The referee presides over a match and manages the court and its surroundings. The referees shall be responsible to the chief referee. ③ The serving referee shall be responsible for declaring a serving violation by the server (Rule 9). ④ The line judge will declare the ball "in bounds" or "out of bounds" at the point where the ball lands on his/her assigned line. ⑤ The on-site referee’s decision on the facts within his or her jurisdiction is the final ruling. ⑥ Referees should: ⑴ Maintain and enforce the rules of badminton competition, and promptly announce "violations" or "re-serve", etc.; ⑵ Make decisions on appeals before the next serve; ⑶ Make athletes and spectators aware of the progress of the game at any time; ⑷ Replace line judges or serving judges after consultation with the chief referee; ⑸ Make arrangements for unattended duties when there is a lack of on-site referees; ⑹ Perform the duties or award a "re-serve" when the on-site referee cannot see clearly; ⑺ Record situations related to Rule 16 and report to the Chief Referee; ⑻ Submit all disputes related to the rules to the Chief Referee (similar appeals must be made by athletes before the next serve is hit; if at the end of a game, it should be made before leaving the court). After everyone understands the new rules of badminton, they need to standardize their movements when exercising and play formally, even if it is just for physical exercise, which is a better use of this sport. When playing badminton, you must pay attention to safety and choose a more formal venue. |
