How to deal with outdoor injuries

Insisting on outdoor exercise in winter can increase the excitability of the cerebral cortex, enhance the temperature regulation function of the central nervous system, enable the body to achieve a balance with the cold climate environment, adapt to the stimulation of cold, and effectively improve the body's ability to resist cold. However, when exercising outdoors in winter, you should pay attention to the following matters so that you can take countermeasures if any problems occur.

Hit on the head

If you bump into someone or fall and hit your head and get a big bump, you may not need to worry too much, but if you have a high fever, vomiting, convulsions, or discharge of clear body fluids (serum, cerebrospinal fluid), you must go to the hospital immediately!

1. In addition to the swollen area, other parts of the head should also be applied with cold compresses. However, this method should not be used when there is a wound, so as not to encourage bacterial growth.

2. If blood or transparent liquid (serum, cerebrospinal fluid) flows out of the ears, nose or mouth, turn your face in the direction of the flow. Be careful not to plug it with gauze or other things to avoid bacterial infection.

3. When vomiting, turn your head to the side to prevent choking by vomit.

4. If convulsion occurs, do not compress the injured limb arbitrarily. Roll a handkerchief into a strip and put it in the patient's mouth to calm him down.

5. When carrying the injured person, keep the head fixed and do not move.

Wounded in the neck

1. The neck contains the trachea, esophagus and nerves, which are important parts of the human body. If it is hit, you should go to the hospital immediately.

2. In order to inhibit internal bleeding, the impact area must be cold compressed.

3. If there is external bleeding, use disinfected sand to stop the bleeding on the wound.

4. When lying down, lay your body flat and never use a pillow.

5. Keep your head fixed when moving.

Back injury

1. Let the injured person lie on his back on a hard wooden board, and place pillows on the neck and waist to keep the spine in a natural curvature. There is no sitting or cross-legged posture allowed.

2. When moving, the neck must also be fixed, and shaking the lying board should be avoided when carrying.

Chest bruise

1. If the chest is hit, there is a risk of fracture or difficulty breathing, so go to the hospital immediately!

2. Apply cold compress.

3. Let the patient lie quietly on a thick blanket with the chest on the painful side facing down.

Waist injury

1. Use a wide cloth strip (bath towel or disinfected cloth strip) or an elastic bandage to wrap the waist and fix it to prevent the injured part from moving.

2. Use cold compresses to stop internal bleeding and calm the patient.

3. If you experience symptoms of leg paralysis, go to the hospital immediately.
