The process in which sugar, fat and protein are oxidized into carbon dioxide and water with the participation of oxygen and release energy at the same time is called aerobic metabolism. The energy released by oxidative decomposition of sugar, fat and protein is released in different ways, but they are closely related. Among them, fatty acids are the main functional substances for medium, low intensity and long-term exercise. Generally speaking, the lower the intensity of exercise and the longer the duration, the higher the proportion of energy provided by fat oxidation. Although there is basically no situation where one energy substance alone provides energy during exercise, the time, sequence and relative ratio of the body's use of energy substances during exercise generally vary with the exercise situation.

The selective utilization of various energy substances depends entirely on the intensity and duration of exercise. The energy consumed by medium, low-intensity, long-duration aerobic exercise mainly comes from fat. On the other hand, fat can only be consumed during aerobic exercise. In other words, only aerobic exercise can reduce limb size (lose weight).

The general method of aerobic exercise for fat loss is to focus on activities involving large muscle groups and long-term, periodic activities (such as outdoor running). The exercise intensity is controlled between 60%-80% of your maximum heart rate, and you should exercise 3-4 times a week. The duration of each exercise depends on the intensity of the exercise, and is generally not less than 20 minutes. If the intensity is low, the time can be extended. When exercising in the gym, you can use a treadmill or choose movements that can exercise the whole body for aerobic exercise. You must control the intensity of the exercise.
