What is the correct way to do yoga meditation?

First, you must have courage and confidence; yoga is not mysterious, nor is it out of reach. The key is the word "diligence" and persistence.

Second, you need to practice meditation; meditation is the basic entry level to yoga, and meditation can improve the flexibility of your legs. Change from single-lotus to double-lotus to stretch the leg muscles, ligaments, ankle, knee and hip joints, so that the legs can move relaxed and natural. If you can sit cross-legged for a long time without feeling numb, pain or fatigue, you have entered the stage of meditation.

Third, you need to prepare before you meditate;

1. Choose a quiet place, either indoors or outdoors, with fresh air, elegant environment and no interference;

2. Make a soft and comfortable cushion. In winter, pay attention to protecting your knees and waist from cold.

3. Do not meditate when you are tired, do not meditate when you are sleep deprived, do not meditate when you are too hungry or too full, do not hold your bowels or bladder, and do not have any mental burdens or selfish thoughts.

4. You can do some light warm-up activities before meditation, such as walking, massaging, patting, etc. Before sitting, you should feel happy, breathe steadily, and feel relaxed.

5. After sitting down, you should further warm up your ankle, knee, and hip joints.

6. There are two ways of sitting cross-legged: one is with the left foot below and the right foot on the left thigh, and then the left foot is moved to the right thigh. This is called the Ruyi Auspicious Sitting. Another posture is with the right foot below, the left foot placed on the right thigh, and then the right foot moved to the left thigh. This is called the Vajra Subduing Demon Posture.

Fourth, seek mental tranquility; Zen cannot be separated from meditation, but most people think that meditation is Zen. In fact, meditation is leg training, not Zen cultivation. Zen cannot be explained in words, it can only be experienced. "The method of meditation is to adjust the mind, balance the body and mind, and gradually eliminate delusions and false thoughts. A person who lives with peace of mind will be radiant," he said. "Meditation is a method of practicing being unobstructed, cultivating a sense of righteousness, and eliminating evil. The mind is not moved randomly, the intention is not scattered, and the thoughts are not random. It is called sitting, and seeing the nature without moving is called Zen."

Fifth, there are many wonderful and colorful skills ; when practicing yoga, as long as you pass the stage of meditation and Zen, other physical skills will not be difficult.
