Although we usually breathe unconsciously, if we consciously change our breathing it can effectively change our body and mind. Abdominal breathing is fundamental to yoga practice. Abdominal breathing does not mean inhaling air into the abdomen, but rather allows the lungs to expand the chest cavity through the regulation of the autonomic nervous system, the diaphragm to move up and down, and the alveoli to exchange air. Simply put, abdominal breathing is to expand the abdomen when inhaling and deflate the abdomen when exhaling. You should consciously increase the capacity of the chest and breathe in and out deeply. Slow breathing can relax the heart and stabilize the large intestine. Of course, regulating breathing will also have a good chain reaction on other internal organs of the body. Although abdominal breathing is basic in yoga breathing, it is more important to mobilize the movement of the diaphragm, chest, shoulders, and larynx to regulate gas flow.
