The research center conducted a study on 40 men aged 30 to 40 to study the body's (hormone levels) response to exercise at different times of the day. The results showed that hormones, key substances in human metabolism, responded most strongly to physical exercise in the evening and at night.

"During the night or evening, there is a dramatic rise in levels of cortisol, which is associated with fat metabolism, and thyroid-stimulating hormone, which is associated with muscle repair," said the University of Chicago researchers.

For example, researchers said that blood tests taken after an hour of intense treadmill exercise in the morning showed that hormone levels were comparable to those during the same period of time when resting in bed. After doing the same exercise between 7pm and 2am the next day, hormone levels were much higher than at other time periods.

This suggests that the body's hormonal response to exercise at different times is controlled by the biological clock or physiological rhythm.

"It's too early to conclude that exercising at one time of day is better than another, but we were surprised that the hormonal response to exercise was related to time of day," the researchers said. "The biological clock appears to play an important role in the body's response to exercise."

Previously, experts generally believed that morning was the best time to exercise for weight loss, but this research result may change this view, believing that exercising in the evening is more appropriate.

How long you should wait to eat after running depends on the intensity and duration of your exercise. For high-intensity exercises such as sprinting and long-distance running, it is recommended to eat 1-2 hours after exercise. For low-intensity jogging, you can eat half an hour later.

Regarding drinking water during exercise: You can drink a small amount of water half an hour before exercise. If you run for a long time, you can also replenish water during exercise. You can drink water immediately after running, but pay attention to drink a small amount of water each time. It is recommended to drink a little at a time, not too much too fast.

If you want to lose weight, it is recommended to run slowly and for a long time.

Whether you run in the morning or in the evening depends on your preferences and schedule, as long as it suits you.

Note:

1. You cannot run on an empty stomach or after eating too much. The best time to run is 2 hours after a meal.

2. It is best to drink an appropriate amount of sports drinks or water that aid digestion thirty minutes before running.
