Is karate suitable for girls to learn or is taekwondo better?

In everyone's eyes, girls are suitable for learning dance and music classes, because this will make girls have a better figure and a more perfect temperament. However, they do not take into account that some physically demanding exercises can actually help children grow up healthily. In fact, in life, some parents also consider that girls also need to learn some self-defense exercises. So, is karate suitable for girls to learn or is taekwondo better?

In karate, the uniform is open-collared and no shoes are worn. The martial arts are mainly fierce, alternating between hard and soft. Especially in practical karate, pay attention to the combination of leg techniques (long-range killing) and hand techniques (close range attack). Because I have fought against Taekwondo fighters of the same level (I am a black belt in karate), I personally feel that Taekwondo is not very lethal. If girls want to practice it for self-defense, I recommend you learn Aikido, which is mainly based on hand techniques and is more suitable for counterattacking after being attacked by the enemy.

In addition, a summer vacation is only a little over a month long. If you practice Taekwondo and Karate, you can only learn some basic hand and leg skills (the work of opening the ligaments cannot be completed). Therefore, if you want to achieve some success, it will take at least 2 or 3 years.

Taekwondo: Comparing Taekwondo and Sanda, we can see that the biggest requirement of Taekwondo is speed. The movements require walking in a straight line to minimize the movement distance and attack the opponent as quickly as possible, but the short attack distance also limits the exertion of strength. Sanda, on the other hand, pursues strength more, relying on large-range body swings to maximize strength. Therefore, if you are in good physical condition, it is recommended that you learn Sanda. On the one hand, you have strong ability to withstand blows and it is okay even if you are slow and get hit a few times. Once the attack is effective, the outcome can almost be determined with one move. People who are not in good physical condition are better off learning Taekwondo. On the one hand, they have better defense and are not easily hit hard. On the other hand, only by attacking the opponent first can they find a chance to win.

Karate: Nowadays, Karate is mainly used in competitions and performances, so it is required to stop when the target is reached. However, if the techniques of Karate are used in actual combat, that is, "hitting but not stopping", it is actually very painful and usually causes injuries to meridians and bones. The problem is that when practicing, we always stop at the point. If we want to do more than just the point in actual combat, we need to overcome our movement habits.
