Is hula hooping considered an aerobic exercise?

Hula hoop exercise has become a very popular form of exercise for many people nowadays. Everyone always regards this kind of exercise as aerobic exercise, but is hula hoop actually considered aerobic exercise? In fact, it is not considered aerobic exercise, because when hula hoop is rotating, it is only to shape the body and reduce the belly, but it is not actually exercise. So is hula hoop effective in losing weight?

Hula hooping is a sport, not an aerobic exercise, and hula hooping is not helpful for weight loss, it is only used for body shaping.

Aerobic exercises include jogging (or brisk walking, slow walking has no weight loss effect), aerobic spinning (excellent weight loss effect, especially for slimming legs), aerobics, yoga and so on.

Aerobic exercise refers to physical exercise performed by the human body with adequate oxygen supply. That is, during exercise, the amount of oxygen inhaled by the human body is equal to its demand, reaching a state of physiological balance. Simply put, aerobic exercise refers to any rhythmic exercise that lasts for a long time (about 15 minutes or more) and has a moderate or high intensity (75% to 80% of the maximum heart rate). Aerobic exercise is a kind of regular exercise that can last for more than 5 minutes with some energy left.

Whether it is "aerobic exercise" is measured by heart rate. Exercise with a heart rate maintained at 150 beats/minute is aerobic exercise, because at this time the blood can supply the myocardium with sufficient oxygen; therefore, it is characterized by low intensity, rhythm, and long duration. Each exercise should last no less than 30 minutes, and should be done 3 to 5 times a week. This type of exercise allows oxygen to fully burn (i.e. oxidize) the sugar in the body, consume body fat, enhance and improve cardiopulmonary function, prevent osteoporosis, and regulate psychological and mental state. It is the main form of exercise for fitness. Therefore, if you are overweight and want to lose weight through exercise, it is recommended to choose aerobic exercise, such as jogging and cycling.

Hula hooping is mainly helpful for weight loss and improving cardiopulmonary function, but we need to pay attention to the fact that although hula hooping is effective, we must pay attention to ensuring even breathing when spinning the hula hoop, and remember not to hold your breath. Although the nutrients absorbed by the hula hoop during the spinning process are insufficient, you must adjust your breathing.
