Shock is a more dangerous condition than fainting because at least when fainting, the person is still breathing. Once in shock, the person may die completely due to prolonged lack of breathing, so shock must be treated promptly. It is also possible to go into shock during exercise, but due to environmental factors, it may take some time to get to the hospital. So what are the first aid and treatment methods for sports shock? When the patient shows signs of shock or mild shock, such as pale face, weakness and other symptoms, he should be supported immediately and allowed to continue walking as much as possible to contract the muscles in his feet, promote blood circulation, and eliminate the symptoms. If the patient is unable to walk or has fainted and is in moderate shock, the patient should be laid flat with the head lowered and the feet raised. Two companions can also lift the patient's lower limbs and massage or rub them from the calves to the thighs to allow the blood to flow back to the heart as soon as possible. When the patient is in severe shock, in addition to the above treatment, acupuncture or pinching points into the heart can be used. When the patient suffers from severe shock, in addition to the above treatment, acupuncture or pinching of the Ren Zhong, Baihui, Yongquan, Hegu, Shixuan and other acupoints can be performed. Do not give any drinks or medicines until consciousness is restored. If vomiting occurs, the head should be tilted to one side. If necessary, vasoconstrictors such as ephedrine or adrenaline can be given subcutaneously. If breathing stops, artificial respiration (mouth-to-mouth resuscitation) or subcutaneous injection of respiratory stimulants should be performed. Anti-shock treatments such as intravenous injection of 50% glucose can also be performed. Those with more serious conditions need to be transferred to the hospital for emergency treatment after first aid on the spot. Shock caused by sports injuries includes: (1) Hemorrhagic shock: It is often seen in rupture of internal organs, severe fractures, etc. Due to excessive blood loss, the blood volume is reduced, affecting normal blood circulation. (2) Traumatic shock: It may be caused by violent impact on the abdomen or head, spinal cord injury, severe fractures, etc. Because of the severe pain, the body's vascular tension regulation function changes, a large number of capillaries expand, causing blood to accumulate in the capillaries, resulting in insufficient blood circulation and leading to shock. (3) Cardiogenic shock: Acute heart failure occurs when participating in overly strenuous exercise causes the load to exceed the heart's ability to withstand. |
