Why does proteinuria increase after exercise?

Why does proteinuria increase after exercise?

Exercise can have a very good effect on the health of the body, so many times we also recommend that everyone should exercise more in life, but some people are prone to some phenomena that they cannot understand after exercise. For example, some people have increased urine protein after exercise. So below we will give you a detailed introduction to what factors are likely to lead to increased urine protein after exercise.

The key to the appearance of protein in urine lies in the change in the permeability of the renal corpuscles. So, under what circumstances will the permeability of the renal corpuscles change? In addition to kidney disease, during strenuous exercise, the small arteries in the kidneys constrict, which reduces blood supply to the kidneys, resulting in insufficient oxygen supply to the kidneys and decreased kidney cell function. This in turn increases the permeability of the renal filtration membrane, allowing protein to easily pass through the renal filtration membrane, thus resulting in the appearance of protein in the urine. The urine protein that appears due to physical exercise is called exercise-induced urine protein. However, this phenomenon will disappear on its own within a few hours after exercise, so there is no need to worry about any problems with the kidneys.

During exercise training, changes in urine protein are often used to measure the intensity and amount of exercise. If the intensity and amount of exercise are too high, there will be more urine protein and it will last correspondingly longer. When athletes are not adapted to the intensity and amount of exercise, they will also have urine protein. After they adapt, the urine protein will disappear. For the same exercise intensity and amount, whether or not urine protein appears or the amount of urine protein that appears varies from person to person. Therefore, the amount of urine protein in different people cannot be used to compare their training levels.

Once you recognize and understand these reasons, you should have a more comprehensive understanding of some sports phenomena. Paying attention to scientific exercise can help you achieve the best exercise results and avoid other adverse problems in your body. This can better protect our health.
