There are many posts discussing equipment in circles of outdoor enthusiasts. Many people think that carrying high-end equipment is a sign of an outdoor enthusiast. In fact, in North China's outdoor world, if you encounter special situations, if you know the following plants, your chances of survival will be much more effective than holding high-end equipment.
1. Kudzu Kudzu is widely distributed in North China and can be easily found in the mountains. It has two functions. One is that it can be made into ropes. The second, more important, is that it can solve the food problem: Kudzu has very thick tubers with a high starch content. Each kudzu tuber weighs up to one kilogram. As long as you dig up a kudzu tuber every day, you can survive for many days without starving to death. Moreover, this tuberous root still exists in winter. So if the time comes when you need to consider outdoor survival, find kudzu vines and you will be away from death.
2. Oak Oak trees are very abundant in the northern woods. Where there are oak trees, there are acorns. Although acorns have a bad taste, they are rich in starch, so if you find an oak tree in autumn and winter, you will find food. In addition, there are usually many squirrels near oak trees, and in winter, this is probably the easiest animal to catch. And if you find a squirrel's hole, you can usually dig up a lot of food. As far as I know, the squirrels in North China are different from those in Northeast China. Most of their holes are not in trees, but on the ground.
3. Basswood There are many lime trees in the northern forests, and the leaves of lime trees are excellent wild vegetables that can be eaten in spring, summer and autumn. Although the calories they can provide are not as good as acorns and kudzu roots, they can still ensure that you will not starve to death. Moreover, the distribution of lime trees is very widespread, and it is very easy to collect lime leaves. If you would starve to death in the summer and autumn forests in the north, I think you must be mentally retarded.
4. Kiwi In the dense forests of the north, kiwis can be found everywhere and are easy to identify. Its fruit is delicious and its leaves can also fill your stomach. And if you run out of water, just cut off the branches of the kiwi fruit and you will see the juice flowing out. Although the taste is not very good, it can definitely save lives.
5. Birch This is the easiest to identify. Like kiwi fruit, there is no problem in solving the water problem. Natural birch is a very famous beverage. If you can't find even a birch tree in the wild, I advise you to stay in the city.
6. Wild Lily There are many lilies in the wild and they are easy to identify. Their roots, leaves and flowers are rich in nutrients and taste good. But it is not as easy to find as the above five. There are many plants in the wild that can save lives, but the ones mentioned above are the easiest to identify and the most widely distributed. Generally speaking, as long as you know these plants, you can ensure that you will not starve to death for 10 days or half a month. If he is not being chased, this time is usually enough for rescuers to find him. |
