Introduction to Yoga Weight Loss Techniques

Waist stretching exercise

Sit up straight with your legs crossed, pressing your sitting bones into the ground, lengthening your spine and lifting your head. (If this is uncomfortable, you can sit on a pillow or folded cushion, or stretch one leg out). Be sure to keep your sitting bones flat on the ground while doing this stretch.

(a) Place your left hand on your right knee, inhale, and lengthen your spine. Exhale, turn your body to the right, breathe, return to the starting position, and then switch directions;

(b) Lower your right hand to the ground and extend your left arm overhead, inhaling to reach your fingers toward the ceiling, then exhaling to reach toward your right side and stretch your left side. If your left sitting bone is off the ground, then you are not stretching enough. Breathe, turn to the other side, and repeat on the left side.

Lazy cat stretch

Kneel on the ground and support yourself with your hands. Lengthen your spine and bring the crown of your head toward the wall in front of you and your tailbone toward the wall behind you. Take a deep breath, exhale, and then turn your back toward the ceiling like a hungry cat (as shown), while lowering your chin toward your belly button. On your next inhale, arch your back, draw your belly toward the floor, and lift your sitting bones and collarbones while lifting your head and looking toward the ceiling. Do this 3 times in sequence.

Yoga is an indoor exercise for weight loss. It is not as intense as outdoor exercise and is especially suitable for office workers because they do not have time to go out for exercise. They can do yoga at home to lose weight when they have time. Friends who do not have time to go out for exercise can choose yoga to lose weight.
