What is the cause of asymmetric abdominal muscles?

Men with abdominal muscles can be said to be charming and perseverant. After all, abdominal muscles cannot be trained overnight, so men with abdominal muscles will subconsciously feel more confident than ordinary men. But some people don’t look that handsome even if they have abdominal muscles, because the asymmetry of the abdominal muscles makes them look not so beautiful. But this does not affect the charm, because there is a reason for the asymmetry of the abdominal muscles. So don't give up on exercising even if you have asymmetry. Now let's talk about why it is asymmetric.

From the anatomical analysis:

The rectus abdominis starts from the pubic bone and ends at the xiphoid process of the sternum. It is actually a whole piece of muscle, but it is separated by the linea alba (also called the tendinous line), so it looks like several pieces. However, when the rectus abdominis contracts, the whole muscle contracts evenly and at the same time, so there is no situation where the left and right rectus abdominis muscles exert different force (if you feel that the left and right are different, it is because the internal and external oblique muscles on both sides of the abdomen exert different force).

The linea alba on the rectus abdominis is innate and determined by genes. Some people have more linea alba, dividing the rectus abdominis into 8 parts, while some people have only 6 parts. Moreover, the distribution of the linea alba is not necessarily symmetrical, so it is normal for the abdominal muscles to look asymmetrical. The distribution of the linea alba is innate, and the force of the rectus abdominis is not uneven on the left and right, so the shape of the rectus abdominis cannot be changed by exercise.

You can look at bodybuilding champion Joe Carter, his abdominal muscles are also asymmetrical. Think about it, he has trained so professionally, if he could change the shape of his abdominal muscles through exercise, he would have made them symmetrical long ago.

Build up your abdominal muscles requires endurance and methods. It is not simply about doing sit-ups, which is only a good way to exercise your iliopsoas and quadriceps. Therefore, exercise requires not only persistence but also the right method.
