The new guidelines also recommend that Americans do weightlifting to build muscle strength and endurance. The guidelines also point out that if the exercise time exceeds the recommended minimum time, it will bring more health benefits.

Lack of exercise leads to disease

In addition, the new guidelines provide special exercise recommendations for people aged 65 and over. The manual calls on these older people to consider doing strength exercises to increase muscle strength to prevent accidental falls, as well as exercises to enhance flexibility and balance.
