1. Sit on the ground with your legs stretched forward.

4. Turn your torso 90 degrees to the right until your left armpit is against the outside of your right thigh. Bring your armpit over your right knee. Exhale and stretch your left arm to twist around your right knee.

5. Place your right hand behind your hips with your fingers pointing backwards. You can turn your neck to the left and look in front of your left shoulder. Or turn your neck to the right and look at the center of your eyebrows. (Turning the neck to the left results in a greater spinal twist than turning the neck to the right)

6. Because the diaphragm is squeezed when the spine is twisted, breathing will become rapid at first. But don't be nervous. After practicing for a while, you can maintain this posture for 1 minute with normal breathing.

7. Slowly relax, straighten your right leg, and then your left leg.

8. Repeat this pose on the other side.
