But do you know whether badminton is considered an aerobic exercise? The editor is here to discuss this topic with you.

Aerobic exercise refers to physical exercise performed by the human body with adequate oxygen supply. That is, during exercise, the amount of oxygen inhaled by the human body is equal to its demand, reaching a state of physiological balance. Simply put, aerobic exercise refers to any rhythmic exercise that lasts for a long time (about 15 minutes or more) and has a moderate or high intensity (75% to 80% of the maximum heart rate).

Aerobic exercise is a kind of regular exercise that can last for more than 5 minutes with some energy left. Aerobic exercise, also called aerobic metabolic exercise, refers to physical exercise performed by the human body with adequate oxygen supply. The benefits of aerobic exercise are: it can increase oxygen intake and better consume excess calories in the body. The standard for measuring whether it is "aerobic exercise" is heart rate. Exercise that keeps the heart rate at 150 beats/minute is called aerobic exercise, because at this time the blood can supply enough oxygen to the myocardium.

Therefore, it is characterized by low intensity, rhythm and long duration. Each exercise should last no less than 30 minutes, and should be done 3 to 5 times a week. This type of exercise allows oxygen to fully burn (i.e. oxidize) the sugar in the body, consume body fat, enhance and improve cardiopulmonary function, prevent osteoporosis, and regulate psychological and mental state. It is the main form of exercise for fitness. Common aerobic exercises include jogging and cycling.

According to the above definition, badminton is an aerobic sport. The benefits of aerobic exercise to the body are self-evident, and it is effortless for people who don’t exercise much on a regular basis. Doing more aerobic exercise helps metabolism, and speeding up metabolism helps the body grow. So those growing children can do some aerobic exercise appropriately. If you want to exercise, doing both aerobic and anaerobic exercise will be more beneficial to your health.
