So, what are the general sports training methods?

Sports training methods refer to the ways and means to develop athletes' competitive abilities and complete training tasks during sports training activities. The main factors that constitute sports training methods are exercise movements and their combinations, exercise loads and how they change, process arrangements and how they change, information media and how they are transmitted, external conditions and how they change.

There are some most commonly used and relatively effective training methods in sports training practice. According to their basic functions and scope of use, they can be divided into two categories: system control training methods and specific operational training methods.

The systematic controlled training method is a training method of overall grasp. It provides people with a way of thinking, an overall design of training, and applies it to training practice in a training stage. Systematic controlled training methods include pattern training method and program training method.

Specific operational training methods are realistic and feasible. They can be used in a single training session, in a stage, or even systematically in multiple years of training to complete specific training tasks. Commonly used specific operational training methods include complete training method, decomposition training method, continuous training method, interval training method, repetition training method, competition training method, transformation training method and circuit training method.
