Why does sit-ups cause back pain?

Why does sit-ups cause back pain?

Nowadays, people's eating conditions have generally improved, and many people always sit on the sofa immediately after eating. Some people do not have good living habits and always overeat, which leads to serious excess fat in the body, especially on the belly. Sit-ups are a good way to reduce belly fat, but some people always say that their backs hurt when doing sit-ups. What's going on?

The most formal way to do sit-ups is to keep your abdominal muscles contracted at all times during the exercise. First, do the sit-ups to get up, and then when you fall down, stop halfway. You will find that your abdominal muscles are contracted, very obviously. Remember this feeling. Do not exert force on other parts of your body (especially your psoas muscles). Slowly stretch your abdominal muscles and lower your body slowly (note to do it slowly, it will help you find the feel and position of the muscles). Do not go to the bottom, stop when your back is about 10 centimeters away from the ground, and then continue to use the force of the contracted abdominal muscles to pull your body up to the highest point, and then use the slowly relaxed force of the abdominal muscles to lower your body. Repeat this cycle. This is how you can truly exercise your abdominal muscles.

In this way, your abdominal muscles are always contracting, and you rely on your mind to control the slow expansion and contraction. Don't just pursue speed and repetition like you did in school, which will only hurt your waist.

With the way you do sit-ups, your abdominal muscles contract when you lift your body, but when you fall, your abdominal muscles don't need to exert any force at all. It's just gravity that pulls you to the bottom. And when you stand up again, in order to stand up, you will subconsciously swing your waist and "throw your body up", which will inevitably cause sudden force on your waist. At this time, what you are exercising are not the abdominal muscles, but the lumbar muscles, and it is very easy to injure the lumbar spine due to the violent shaking.

If you experience back pain when doing sit-ups, it means that you are not doing it correctly. Exercise also requires proper methods and techniques, so when doing sit-ups, you should first understand the correct way to do it. When you first learn it, you must control the amount of exercise and do not pursue speed, which will cause excessive fatigue to your body.
