Can sit-ups exercise your abdominal muscles?

Can sit-ups exercise your abdominal muscles?

In our daily life, I believe everyone is familiar with the exercise of sit-ups. Generally, starting from elementary school, students are asked to do sit-ups in physical education classes. As we all know, sit-ups can help us exercise our back and waist muscles very well. So can sit-ups exercise our abdominal muscles? Don’t worry, let’s take a look at the introduction below!

Sit-ups are more suitable for beginners. Once your strength increases, you should switch to more intense exercises. Because what is needed to exercise the abdominal muscles is the intensity of the movements, not the number of movements. If you can do more than 300 sit-ups at a time, there will be no obvious muscle-building effect.

Just one or two moves are enough to work your abdominal muscles. The key to training your abdominal muscles lies in the intensity of the movements, not the more times the better. For example, if you can do 200 sit-ups at a time, it is not as good as if you can only do 10 sit-ups at both ends. Because being able to do more than 200 reps is a way to train your endurance, it does not significantly increase the thickness of your muscle fibers.

Four movements: sit-ups, supine leg raises, sit-ups, and hanging leg raises (increasing intensity in sequence). If you can do 10 to 20 sit-ups, then do leg raises; if you can do 10 to 20 leg raises, then do sit-ups. And so on. Practice three times a week, doing about 3 sets of each exercise each time.

In addition, if the body fat percentage is higher than 10%, the fat will cover the abdominal muscles you have trained. This is why sumo wrestling has no muscles. If you have a small belly, you need to jog for about 40 minutes to lose fat. About 3 to 5 times a week. If you can't run for 40 minutes at a time, you can walk briskly for a while in between.

Through the introduction of the above content, I believe friends have already known that doing sit-ups can exercise our abdominal muscles. However, sit-ups are more suitable for people who are just starting to exercise, as they can effectively eliminate belly fat. If you want to exercise your abdominal muscles for a long time, you need to increase the intensity of the movements and the amount of exercise.
