Fishing was listed as an official sport in China in 1983. It has gone through three different historical stages: management by the State Sports Commission, management by the Ministry of Agriculture, and direct management by the Social Sports Guidance Center of the General Administration of Sports of China.

Fishing is actually a sport, but it depends on what aspect. If you want to keep fit through fishing, then it is definitely not possible.
