When walking briskly on a treadmill, about 50% of the calories consumed come from fat burning; if you run, only 35% of the calories consumed come from fat burning.

It seems that brisk walking is better than jogging. So most people think that as long as they walk on a treadmill for two hours and sweat, they are "losing weight." In fact, this is not scientific, because although it can consume fat, it cannot effectively reduce weight.

In contrast, when people engage in high-intensity exercise, they burn less fat but lose weight faster. For example, brisk running can burn about 330 calories in half an hour, but brisk walking in the same amount of time can only burn about 200 calories. At this time, brisk running is better than brisk walking.

But at this time, what we consume mainly is the carbohydrates in the human body, and we cannot burn too much fat. Therefore, when using a treadmill to lose weight, you should combine high and low intensity exercises, and then brisk walk for a while after running fast.

In addition, many sports coaches suggest that if you don’t want to waste too much time running and walking, hill walking is a good choice. Because its exercise intensity is between walking and jogging, it can consume more calories in the same amount of time, reducing both fat and weight, and you will feel that hill climbing is an interesting sport, not as boring as pure running and walking.

Although running on a treadmill is a good way to keep fit, you also need to pay attention to some things while running so that it can be good for your body. You must set your own speed during running. Never run too fast, otherwise it may not only fail to achieve the fitness effect, but may also cause harm to your body.
