What are the characteristics of aerobic exercise?

Exercise, a form of exercise, covers a very wide range and can be classified in many ways. It can be divided based on the way substances in the human body are metabolized during exercise, that is, whether the energy for exercise comes from aerobic metabolism or anaerobic metabolism. We can divide exercise into two categories: aerobic exercise and anaerobic exercise. Today, let’s talk about aerobic exercise and learn about the characteristics of aerobic exercise.

Aerobic exercise refers to those exercises in which the body's energy supply mainly comes from aerobic metabolism. Aerobic metabolism means that the body's energy substances such as carbohydrates, fats or proteins are fully burned in the tissues under sufficient oxygen conditions to produce carbon dioxide and water, while releasing energy to supply ADP and then synthesize ATP to maintain exercise. Generally speaking, any continuous exercise that can last for more than 3 minutes can be called aerobic exercise. For example, long periods of walking, running, cycling, climbing, swimming, rowing, skating, Tai Chi, dancing, light muscle exercises, various aerobics, etc. are all aerobic exercises.

Characteristics of aerobic exercise:

Can last for a long time. If health issues are not taken into consideration, people can run continuously for hours, or even longer (generally reasonable aerobic running exercises are 25 to 90 minutes each time);

The intensity of the exercise is low. Generally, the heart rate for aerobic exercise is 55%~80% of the maximum heart rate [maximum heart rate = (208 minus age) multiplied by 70%)]

Many muscles are involved in the exercise at the same time, and large muscle groups are involved in the exercise. Such as cycling, swimming, running, skating and other sports

Simple repetitive movements. Most forms of aerobic exercise involve continuous, repetitive movements, such as running, swimming, rowing, cycling, etc. (there are exceptions, such as Tai Chi, etc.);

It can significantly improve the body's cardiopulmonary, liver and kidney functions, enhance work endurance, make the resting heart rate lower than that of normal people, and enable long-term high-efficiency work.

After mastering certain knowledge about aerobic exercise and understanding its characteristics, can you easily distinguish what aerobic exercise is? Can you roughly classify sports? I believe that for you who understand the above content, this question is quite easy, and the answer is already in your hearts.
