Is it OK to swim after exercise?

Some people like nude sports very much. After a long-distance run, they are still sweating, so they immediately take off their clothes and jump into the swimming pool to swim. In fact, this is a very incorrect approach. Blindly doing swimming exercises and ignoring the body's endurance limit will cause unnecessary damage to the body. Therefore, you should not swim after strenuous exercise. Here are some harmful effects of swimming after sweating.

After exercise, it is not advisable to take a cold shower, swim, blow dry or use air conditioning immediately: some people seek temporary pleasure, and as soon as the strenuous exercise is over, they immediately use electric fans, enter the air-conditioned room or cool off in the shade. This will take away a lot of body heat, causing the skin temperature to drop too quickly. Through the reflex activity of the nervous system, it will cause the blood vessels in the upper respiratory tract to constrict, the nasal cilia to swing slower, and the local disease resistance to decrease. At this time, the bacteria and viruses parasitic in the respiratory tract will multiply in large numbers, easily causing colds, tracheitis and other diseases.

Some people go swimming or take a cold water bath immediately after strenuous exercise. Due to the huge difference in temperature between the limbs and the water, calf cramps are also likely to occur. Therefore, you should wipe off the sweat after strenuous exercise. It is more appropriate to swim or take a cold bath when the sweat stops. If your body temperature is too high after strenuous exercise, you can wipe off the sweat and use a breeze to cool down, like a boxer. It is not recommended to swim immediately after exercise, especially after sweating a lot.

If you suddenly jump into a swimming pool after sweating during exercise, the probability of developing arthritis or rheumatism will be very high. In traditional Chinese medicine, if a person comes into contact with cold water immediately after sweating, wind, cold and dampness will more easily invade the body through the pores, thus laying the hidden danger of future illness. The correct approach is to rest in a cool place after sweating during exercise and replenish water, and then go swimming after your body has recovered.
