1. Steps: Mai Qingxian had flexible steps in the boxing competition of the 10th National Games. Boxing, like traditional Chinese martial arts, attaches great importance to the training and use of steps, because the starting point of power in most fighting and sports is launched from the lower body, such as the famous butterfly step of boxing champion Ali, which is not only beautiful but also very practical. The steps in boxing are mainly based on sliding steps to maintain the center of gravity: forward and backward sliding steps, left and right sliding steps as the basis, each step corresponds to different boxing methods, such as forward and backward sliding steps corresponding to forward and backward straight punches, left and right sliding steps corresponding to left and right swing punches. This is just very basic training. When your steps are proficient enough, the power generated by any step can rise to the waist, and then use the waist as the axis to change into various extremely lethal boxing methods, so if you want to learn boxing, you must practice steps first.

2. Jab: A straight-line punch with the front hand, which is used as the beginning of an attack and can also be combined with other punches for continuous attack. Key points: Punch quickly and suddenly, with less rotation of waist and hips, and less force in pushing the ground, so the center of gravity moves forward less, and after punching, the arm is not fully extended.

3. Cross punch (cross back hand) Cross punch is a heavy straight punch with the back hand. It is generally used only when you are fully confident. Key points: From the basic posture, start to push the ground with the right foot. The force generated by the right leg pushes the right hip joint forward, driving the waist to rotate forward quickly, and at the same time pushes the right shoulder forward. Twisting the hips and waist and moving the right shoulder forward can increase the power and attack distance of the right straight punch.

4. Uppercut (back hand) The uppercut can be a short punch or a long punch. When throwing a long punch, the arm is almost straight, and the angle between the upper and forearm is greater than 90°. When throwing a short punch, the angle between the upper and forearm is less than 90°. When the opponent raises his hands to protect his head, or when his attack on the head misses, you can throw an uppercut to hit the opponent's upper body (stomach, abdomen or armpits).

5. Hook (front hand) is a punch that rotates in an arc, and the target is the head or the side of the torso. There are only four standard striking methods in contemporary mainstream boxing, namely the jab and hook with the front hand, the cross punch and uppercut with the back hand, and each of the front and back hands has a straight line punch and an arc punch. The domestic classification of so-called straight punch, swing punch, and hook punch is neither accurate nor standard, which will cause confusion in the understanding of technology. It is enough to study and practice the four types of boxing seriously, achieve delicate and standard technical skills, and meet the requirements of speed, accuracy and ruthlessness.
