Requirements for Tai Chi Standing

Requirements for Tai Chi Standing

Tai Chi is actually a type of boxing in Chinese martial arts. I believe that everyone has often heard of this type of boxing. In addition, standing still is a very important exercise in Tai Chi. So, have you ever had a specific understanding of standing still in Tai Chi, and what are the requirements and technical issues? Let’s learn and understand it together! If you follow these methods and steps, physical exercise can bring good results.

Require

(1) The head is easy to straighten: The head is the highest part of the human body. It is the ruler of the body and should not be tilted. As the saying goes, "If the upper part is not straight, the lower part will be tilted." The head should be straight, the mind should be clear, the demeanor should be dignified, the chin should be tucked in, the neck should be straight, and the head should be upright, as if commanding the whole body.

(2) Shoulders are easy to move: Shoulders move smoothly to the left and right, with the intention of the shoulder bones being stretched out to the left and right in a balanced, parallel, and relaxed manner, without any restraint or height, in order to exert strength. This posture is the basic requirement for this stance.

(3) The chest is easy to protrude: A person with a protruding chest has dignity in his chest. Protruding the chest is not the same as sticking out the chest. Protruding the chest can enhance the power of the spirit, while sticking out the chest will lose the center. Protruding the chest is good for the flexibility of the waist. If the waist is flexible, the body will be light and agile, and it will be easy to work together.

(4) The waist is easy to stabilize: The waist is the central ruler of the human body's joints. It is the link for the up and down movement of the limbs and the center of gravity. Therefore, the most important thing for the waist is stability. If it is stable and heavy, it will be solid. If the upward and downward Qi is not stagnant, the strength will not be empty.

(5) Strong feet: For strong feet, place both feet flat, press down with the inside of the big toe, and make the feet stand firmly on the ground. As the ancient saying goes: All strength comes from the feet. The firmness of the feet will directly affect the footwork, body shape, and the ability to exert force. When practicing, you must stretch your tendons and muscles, and not use brute force, otherwise your feet will be unstable and how can you achieve success?

(6) The knees should be easy to bend: The knees should be able to bend easily, and yet try to straighten while bending, which is the key to stabilizing the lower body. Bend your knees slightly and stretch them up and down to stretch your tendons and veins and strengthen your lower body. When practicing you must not use acquired brute force. If you use brute force throughout your life you will absorb enough gravity and lose the stability of the earth. You should know that the clumsy force of the knees will block the flow of vital energy, making the body uncomfortable and the joints lose flexibility, so you should practice with the intention of supporting the body outward.

The above are some methods of Tai Chi standing and the movement techniques. Scientifically understanding these common sense will naturally help you practice and bring more help. At the same time, if you have this intention, you can also practice this kind of boxing, because we all know that always doing single exercises such as running will make people feel boring, so you can try these novel exercise methods.
