How to choose a snowboard?

When winter comes, the temperature will drop very quickly. This is also the time when heavy snow will come. When it snows, many people like to go out to make snowmen and sled. Some people like to ski. When skiing, you must use skis. This is an essential tool for skiing. If there are no skis, then we can't ski. There are single skis and double skis. This meets personal needs. So how to choose a single ski?

1. Type of snowboard:

Before buying a snowboard, you must understand that the current snowboards are roughly divided into three types (all-around boards, park boards, and alpine boards), which reflect the several ways of playing and terrain of snowboards (turns, jumps, U-grooves, flatland fancy, boxes, rails, and alpine). The first and most common type is called FREESTYLE (all-around board). This type of snowboard is widely used in China. It is relatively versatile and has good performance in all aspects. It has medium speed and hardness. The all-around board is best in slalom, jumping platform and U-groove. The second type is called PARK (park board). This type of snowboard allows you to spend a comfortable day in the park. Common park boards have a two-way tip (TWIN TIP), are relatively slow, and have the softest hardness. They are more suitable for flatland freestyle, BOX, and RAIL. The third type is called FREERIDE (alpine board). This type of board generally has a longer, wider and thinner head and a shorter, narrower and thicker tail. This type of snowboard is the fastest and hardest.

2. Basic parameters of snowboard:

(1) Length: The English name of this attribute is LENGTH. Generally speaking, longer boards are more stable and suitable for high-speed skating, while shorter boards are more flexible and suitable for use in parks and props. But what is the appropriate length range? Stand the board up, the highest should not be higher than your nose, and the shortest should not be lower than your shoulders. Strictly speaking, for general beginners, it is recommended to subtract 20cm from your height. The height can be adjusted up or down by 3cm depending on your weight and preferred playing style. People who are heavier and prefer to glide can choose to float upward, while people who are lighter and like to play with flat flower boxes can choose to float downward. If you are an enthusiast, one snowboard may not meet your needs. You need at least two snowboards, one for high-speed sliding, such as big jumps or big mountains that require speed, and one for the park and props. The shortest length used for prop movements is around the shoulders. According to the use of snowboards by foreign PROs, the height of the board is not particularly closely related to height. The key is to control your weight. As long as your weight is within the range that the snowboard can bear, you can use a short board to experience the flexibility of the board, and you can also use a long board to experience speed and stability. This doesn't have to follow the rules. There are also 180cm players abroad who have 152cm boards.

(2) Width: There are three types of width attributes: Nose Width (board head width), Tail Width (board tail width), and Waist Width (board waist width). Generally, we mainly focus on Waist Width (board waist width). Generally speaking, the width of the board selected according to height is basically appropriate, but some players with larger feet may find that the long board is not wide enough (the standard is to see whether there is too much width outside the board after the bindings and boots are placed at the usual angle. For example, if all five toes are outside, the board is not wide enough, and it is easy to cause accidents when skating because the board edge cannot be used normally. But please note that it is normal for boots and bindings to be slightly wider than the board. If you are a 190cm tall person with size 45 feet, you definitely need a Wide board if you want to play BOX.

If you want to ski, just follow these steps when buying the skis and snowboards. This will allow you to choose the skis that are most suitable for you and will not cause any problems when skiing. If the skis are not good, the skiing effect will not be good, and you may even get hurt. If the skis are well selected, you will feel more at ease when skiing.
