How to prepare for running

Running is a hobby for many people. If you develop a good habit of running every day, you will feel uncomfortable if you don’t go out for a run. Experienced people know that they can do some warm-up work before running. So, how should you warm up before running? For some preparations you can make before running, see below.

Warm-up exercise steps before running:

1. Exercise the knee joint. Half squat, support your knees with both hands, and twist your knees clockwise. After 10 times, twist your knees counterclockwise.

2. Move the hip joints and raise your legs alternately, twenty times each.

3. Leg stretching: Relax your shoulders and back, step one leg forward, bend your knee 90 degrees, make your thigh parallel to the ground, bend and stretch the other leg, put your toes on the ground, and keep your upper body upright. After doing ten times, switch to the other leg and continue.

4. Turn your body, stretch your arms, and move your waist left and right.

5. Move your feet. Stand with your hands on your hips. Stand normally on one foot and put the other foot on the ground with your toes. Rotate your feet clockwise, and then counterclockwise.

6. Kick your legs forward and backward to exercise your hip and knee joints.

7. Stretch your upper body and rotate your neck and arms left and right.

Other preparations:

1. Warm up by jogging for ten minutes before running. This will prepare your body. It only takes about ten minutes and you should make your body sweat slightly.

2. Perform stretching after warming up. Stretching can increase the angle of joint movement, increase the elasticity and flexibility of muscles and tendons, and prevent injuries while running. You can do activities like leg stretching, body twisting, and shoulder stretching.

3. Prepare suitable shoes and choose different shoes according to different running methods. If it is ordinary running, you can choose ordinary casual shoes. If it is running 100 meters, you should choose spiked shoes. The shoes must fit your feet well, not too big or too small, to prevent sprains or squeezing.

How to warm up before running? The preparation work before running is very simple, but also very necessary, so that you can adjust your condition as soon as possible, which is conducive to the smooth progress of running. In addition to the preparations before running, everyone should try to do some simple stretching exercises after running to relax the body to avoid physical discomfort.
