Swimming is a very popular sport in the hot summer. It not only relieves heat, but also regulates the body's immunity, preventing diseases and losing weight. Therefore, there is always a group of happy people in the swimming pool in summer. However, swimming also requires some attention, otherwise it will cause physical discomfort. For example, some people will have a headache after swimming. What causes this? 1. Not warming up enough Warming up is definitely the most easily overlooked step in all your swimming steps! Therefore, headaches can easily come to you, but you feel puzzled. If you don't warm up sufficiently before swimming to activate your soft tissues, exercising directly will increase the tension in your neck muscles, which will then affect the blood supply to the cervical artery. Insufficient blood supply will of course cause dizziness and headaches. Even if you warm up, don't swim too hard right after entering the water! But some people may say, “I never warm up and I never have a headache. What’s going on?” Okay, okay, you are awesome. Everyone's body is very different, and the regulatory functions of blood vessels and various body mechanisms are also different, so some people will feel pain and some will not. However, a thorough warm-up will not only prevent headaches, it will also protect your joints from damage. In short, no matter what the reason is, warming up before entering the water is a must! 2. Not Cooling Down Enough After talking about warm-up, let’s talk about cool-down. If you think I have too many tricks, then you are ignorant. Cooling down means that after you swim hard, don’t get out of the water right away. It’s okay to splash in the water or look at the girls. Give yourself some buffer time. When we exercise, our muscles are constantly contracting, which speeds up blood flow and prevents the brain from being in a state of ischemia. However, after exercise, muscles relax, capillaries dilate, the amount of blood stagnating in the muscles increases, and the blood supply to the brain becomes relatively insufficient. Moreover, your body is always horizontal during swimming. If you suddenly come out of the water and your body becomes upright, it will cause insufficient blood supply to the brain, which can easily lead to brain hypoxia, and then dizziness and headaches. 3. Goggles are too tight Wearing the goggles incorrectly can also be a headache. In order to prevent water from entering their eyes, some people will tighten their goggles tightly, as if the tighter they are, the safer they will feel. However, this will compress the nerves around the eyes, causing increased intraocular pressure, and after a while you will start to experience headaches and nausea. Also, friends who wear myopic swimming goggles, make sure to choose the right degree! This is the same as wearing myopic glasses with inappropriate degrees. If you wear a pair of high-degree swimming goggles into the water, I guarantee that you will feel dizzy and have a headache. Therefore, the right way is to choose the swimming goggles that suit you and wear them correctly. Also, let me add that eyes are such an important organ, so don’t settle for just a pair of glasses that cost a few dollars at a street stall. |
