What are the muscle contraction exercises?

Muscles are something that each of us has. Generally, we change muscle strength and muscle strength through exercise. There are many types and methods of exercise. No matter what kind of exercise method it is, as long as it is good for our body and muscles, it will be fine. In particular, muscle contraction is a phenomenon that occurs when we exercise. Let's take a look at the types of muscle contraction exercises.

Types of muscle contraction (by muscle length):

Prime movers, antagonists, fixators, and synergists all play an important role in both static and dynamic contractions.

1) Static contraction means that when the muscle is in isotonic contraction, its length does not change, the angles at which the two ends of the muscle cross the joints and attach to the bones do not change, and no speed is generated. Static contractions occur during isometric exercises. Includes peak contraction and co-contraction. Static (antagonistic) contraction is also called isometric contraction, which includes antagonistic contraction of prime mover muscle (including peak contraction and non-peak contraction) and antagonistic contraction of fixed muscle. The muscle group that produces isometric contraction is one muscle group, and the muscle groups that produce static antagonistic contraction belong to multiple muscle groups.

2) Dynamic contraction means that when the muscle contracts and stretches, its length and the angle of the muscle across the joint will change. This change will also cause the strength of the muscle contraction and produce speed. Dynamic contractions are found in power training. Dynamic (antagonistic) contractions include isotonic contractions and isokinetic contractions.

Through the above introduction, we now know what types of muscle contraction exercises are. Generally, when we statically contract muscles, it is a local or small muscle movement. Dynamic ones are generally mainly performed on large muscle groups of the body. Both can achieve the purpose of muscle training, but we must pay attention to the method.
