Swimming safety knowledge

Swimming safety knowledge

The only thing in the world that cannot be bought with money is time. Time is the fairest thing for everyone. Now it is spring again, and summer is approaching us in a blink of an eye. As the summer temperature continues to rise, friends will definitely think of the iconic summer sport - swimming. It is not only useful for cooling down, but also has a good body shaping effect. But how many people really understand swimming safety knowledge?

Swimming can not only strengthen our physical fitness, but also increase our lung capacity. However, we should pay special attention to swimming safety knowledge. Although swimming is a very beneficial sport for our physical health, there are also various risk factors.

What should you pay attention to when swimming

1. Swimming requires a physical examination. People with heart disease, high blood pressure, tuberculosis, otitis media, skin diseases, severe trachoma and various infectious diseases should not swim. Female students who are menstruating should not go swimming.

2. Choose the swimming place carefully. Before swimming in rivers, lakes, or seas, you must first understand the water conditions. Waters with undercurrents, whirlpools, silt, rocks, and lots of aquatic plants are not suitable for swimming. It is not advisable to swim in waters with heavy ship traffic, polluted areas, or areas where diseases such as schistosomiasis are prevalent.

3. Do warm-up exercises before going into the water. You can run, do exercises, and move your body around. You should also rinse your torso and limbs with a small amount of cold water. This will allow your body to adapt to the water temperature as quickly as possible and avoid dizziness, palpitations, and cramps.

4. Do not swim when you are full or hungry, or after strenuous exercise or heavy labor.

5. Do not jump into the water when the underwater conditions are unclear.

6. If you find someone drowning, do not rush into the water to rescue them. Instead, call loudly for adults to help.

In addition to the above points about swimming safety, we should also pay attention to the fact that every time we swim, we should try not to go to dangerous places such as rivers, lakes and reservoirs. Basically, many tragic cases happen before our eyes every year. Although the water in these places looks calm, there are unknown whirlpools hidden underwater. Once you enter the water, you may be swept away by the whirlpool, so you must carefully choose the swimming spot.
