What causes nosebleeds after exercise?

Introduction to this article: The nose is a relatively fragile organ on the human face. Often, it will bleed due to dryness or inflammation. In addition, a small number of people will experience nosebleeds after strenuous exercise. Therefore, before first aid, the first thing to do is to understand the cause so that the right medicine can be prescribed in time. If the symptoms are severe, seek medical attention immediately to avoid delaying the condition.

There are reasons behind bleeding

The causes of nosebleeds can be roughly divided into two types: one is the more common cause, which is caused by diseases of the nose itself, and the other is caused by systemic diseases.

Bleeding from the nose itself is most often caused by dryness or erosion of the nasal mucosa. This situation often occurs when the weather is too dry or after eating chili peppers, beef or mutton, causing a small amount of nose bleeding. Some people have the bad habit of picking their noses, and some people blow their noses very hard. These actions can also damage the small blood vessels in the nasal mucosa and cause nosebleeds. In addition, if the nasal septum (the space between the two nostrils) deviates from the midline, is significantly curved, or even partially bulges, then this protruding part is more likely to bleed.

In addition, inflammation or fungal diseases in the sinuses can also cause nosebleeds. It is worth noting that when a hemangioma grows in the nose, the amount of nose bleeding is often heavy; and malignant tumors such as nasal cancer or nasopharyngeal cancer often manifest as bloody nasal discharge in the early stages.

Of course, some systemic diseases can also cause nose bleeding. For example, diseases that cause fever can cause bleeding due to congestion of the nasal mucosa. Blood diseases such as thrombocytopenia or leukemia can cause nose bleeding due to abnormal coagulation function. People with severe liver damage may also experience nose bleeding due to coagulation disorders.

Therefore, once nose bleeding occurs, emergency measures should be taken in time. If the nose bleeding can be stopped after first aid, then it is okay. However, if the bleeding does not stop, you should pay attention to the possibility that there is something wrong with your body. You need to go to the hospital for further detailed examination to avoid delaying treatment. You should also pay attention to the intensity when exercising.
