How to run correctly?

When it comes to running, most people probably think that running is a very simple sport and that everyone knows how to run. But in fact, if the running method is incorrect, it will not only fail to achieve the effect of exercise, but may even cause certain harm to the body. Therefore, it is very necessary to understand the correct running posture before running. So how do you run correctly? Let’s take a look together!

Due to the center of gravity and muscles, many people sprain their ankles while running. Imagine a rope attached to your shoulders, gently pulling you upward. As your heels strike the ground, trust your hips to lean slightly forward and think of yourself as stable. This will be easy if you already have a good grasp on your center of gravity.

Relax. Do some warm-up exercises, stretch your arms, neck, and shake your shoulders. Keep your arms and fingers relaxed. Shake your arms and move your jaw slightly.

Breathe correctly. Your breathing should be deep and rhythmic. You should feel your diaphragm breathing, not your chest. You have to try to control its rhythm. Also, when you have a good rhythm, don't let your breathing become shallow.

Land on the soles of your feet. Landing on your toes first means you are slowing down. This means your legs are moving too far away from your center of mass, so it takes more energy for you to run forward. And it will make you shaky. So instead of a forward tendency your muscles are static. Shorten your stride and take smaller steps. It may feel strange at first, but once you get used to it, you'll find that there's a force pushing you from behind.

Walk lightly. The louder your feet hit the ground, the less efficient your running is. Try running quietly. Your steps will unconsciously become shorter, and your feet will land faster and lighter.

Balanced swing arm. Check your form in a mirror on your treadmill or just on the floor. If one arm swings more than the other, your muscles and bones are somewhat imbalanced, which will become a resistance to your running. Lock out the arm that has a slower swing and do some flexibility exercises on it.

The above is some introduction about correct running. In order to run correctly, you must first control your center of gravity, relax, and do warm-up exercises. In addition, breathing is very important while running. Swing your arms left and right in a balanced manner, make sure your feet touch the ground, and take light steps. These are all correct running postures. You can refer to your own running posture and correct it appropriately.
