What kind of people can't practice yoga?

What kind of people can't practice yoga?

People nowadays have a rich and colorful life. Some people use their spare time to practice yoga, which can indeed help them cultivate their character, lose weight, and shape a good temperament. However, yoga is not a fitness sport that all people can practice. If some people are not careful when practicing, it will backfire. So what kind of people can't practice yoga?

1. People who have just recovered from a serious illness

Yoga requires a person to be in good physical condition in order to exercise the body's functions and muscle groups. If your physical condition is not good and your muscles, joints and ligaments cannot exert their strength, it is easy to get accidentally injured.

2. People with osteoporosis

Some yoga poses require you to use your hands or feet to support your body weight. If you suffer from osteoporosis, it is very likely that your core muscles are not well trained, which may cause fractures when you support your elbows.

3. People with blood coagulation diseases

Practicing yoga requires positioning, stretching and twisting of the limbs, which may lead to reduced peripheral blood flow and easily cause severe blood coagulation, thereby causing cardiovascular disease.

4. Patients with spondylolisthesis

When practicing the "Sun Salutation", the practitioner must bend the waist downward. People with spondylolisthesis may experience vertebral slippage again due to this movement. People with herniated disc may also suffer from more severe nerve compression in the lower limbs due to careless bending.

5. People with high intraocular pressure

It is not recommended to practice a headstand with your feet upside down. Yoga instructors say that forward bending or handstands will increase intraocular pressure, so people who already have high intraocular pressure are not suitable for practicing yoga.

6. Epilepsy and cerebral cortex damage

Many yoga movements involve stretching the neck. If you have epilepsy or damage to the cerebral cortex, bending forward and backward to massage the neck may induce an epileptic seizure.

Although yoga is very popular nowadays, it is necessary to keep in mind some groups of people when practicing yoga. What kind of people should not practice yoga? For example, the types of people mentioned above must be paid attention to. If a person has some of the above diseases, he must be careful, because practicing yoga will not only fail to keep fit, but will also cause other harm to the body.
