Crossing the single-plank bridge When walking straight across, one is a bit like an acrobat, with steps as wide as shoulders and walking with feet turned outward, eyes looking one meter ahead, keeping firmly on the bridge step by step, and walking quickly. If the bridge is not long, walking a little faster would be much better than walking slowly. As long as you keep your balance, you can cross it quickly. If there are more team members, two people can go first (bring the rope with them). Pull one or two safety ropes on both sides of the stream, stretch the two ends of the ropes straight and tie them to the trees on both sides, and then you can pass through it boldly. If a female team member feels guilty, a male team member can assist her from behind and help her carry her backpack. Over gravel Avoid walking on gravel if there are other possible routes. When crossing gravel, first test whether the stones are stable. Avoid stepping on the stones too hard all at once, as this may cause you to lose balance, slip, or get injured. Cross the plank road The plank road here refers to some narrow roads on the edge of the canyon, with a canyon wall on one side and a river valley on the other, which can only accommodate one person. Since people are carrying backpacks, if they suddenly turn around or squat, the backpacks will often hit the rock wall and push them off the road, causing danger. The correct way is to move slowly sideways facing the rock wall. Cross the river on foot When you are unsure of the depth of the river, use a small wooden stick that is almost as tall as you to explore the way ahead. When the river water is shallower than your knees, you can roll up your trouser legs and slowly cross the river in the summer. Avoid going barefoot and it is safer to keep your shoes on. When there are stones to step on in the river, choose dry stones to walk on, as wet stones are easy to slip on. And make sure the stone is not easy to shake (you can also use a small wooden stick to test it in front), then move the center of gravity. Some stones are prone to shaking and may cause accidental fractures. When you encounter a deep river, do not risk crossing it. Consider taking a detour or other methods. Walking in the rain The most annoying thing about rainy days is that mud sticks to your shoes, making it very difficult to walk and easy to slip. So when walking, you should tie your shoelaces tightly to avoid touching mud puddles and getting your shoes stuck and falling off. When climbing in a mud pit, it is best to use climbing shoes (for anti-slip function) or a walking stick. It would be best if you could buy straw sandals from local farmers. ascent Take your steps naturally and don't take too many steps. If you walk with big steps, your body will sway from side to side and you will lose your balance. You should walk firmly step by step. Remember not to lift your knees too high, and try to use the strength of your thigh muscles to lift your body; at the same time, avoid climbing trees or other plants. If you encounter a steep mountain road, avoid climbing in a straight line, and it is best to climb up alternately to the left and right (zigzag). Downhill Going downhill generally feels easy, but if you disrupt the original rhythm of walking, it is easy to fall and get injured. In particular, you must avoid running and jumping, as you may easily get hurt. Experienced people always walk slowly downhill and tie their shoelaces tightly to prevent their toes from hitting the top of the shoes and injuring their fingertips. If the slope is too steep, you can zigzag down the mountain or go down sideways. Over the grass and bushes First of all, you should wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants, and carefully observe the route and direction to avoid getting lost. Do not follow the person in front of you too closely to avoid being hit by rebounding branches or grass. Always pay attention to holes or rocks in the grass to avoid slipping or falling. Also pay attention to beehives or anthills in the grass. Use branches to push aside the weeds and move forward with your knees raised to reduce the risk of being attacked by snakes and insects. Cross the suspension bridge The suspension bridge tends to sway from side to side, so people are better off crossing it one by one. Remember not to crowd to avoid danger. If you are afraid of heights, do not look down at the river below your feet (especially if the stream is rushing), and try to shift your sight to the bridge 100 meters in front of your body; at the same time, do not change your walking speed, and walk rhythmically.
