Can swimming build muscle?

Swimming can have a good body-shaping effect. Of course, swimming can also exercise the body's muscles. We often see swimmers on TV with healthy physiques, and swimming plays an indispensable role in this. The most direct visual impression of people who swim regularly is that their shoulder and back muscles are very developed. Swimming can make muscles more explosive and increase the body's tolerance.

Swimming is a good exercise for body shaping. Regular swimming exercises will definitely make your muscles fuller and increase your strength. However, in order to achieve the effect of training muscles and increasing strength, you need to pay attention to the amount of training and the coordination of diet when swimming. Swimming training requires distance and time to control the training volume. For example, swimming continuously for more than 40 minutes or more than 2,000 meters after entering the water is a relatively basic training volume for amateur swimmers to achieve their training goals.

Breaststroke can exercise leg strength. The thigh movements in freestyle and backstroke are both whipping up and down, only in breaststroke is kicking and clamping. The former can make the legs longer, while the latter uses more of the thigh adductor muscles, so it is very effective in strengthening leg strength.

Butterfly stroke can exercise the strength of the chest and back. When doing the butterfly stroke, the arms paddle inwards, doing the shoulder adduction movement, which has a greater impact on the latissimus dorsi and higher requirements on the rectus abdominis, and has the best training effect.

Freestyle swimming can exercise arm strength. When swimming freestyle, the biceps and triceps in the upper arms use more force, which can effectively exercise the arm muscles. At the same time, it also has a certain effect on improving the strength of the deltoid muscles in the shoulders.

In addition, one of the swimming postures is backstroke, which can exercise the strength of a person's back muscles. After swimming regularly, the back muscles will give a broad and thick feeling, and are very healthy. When doing backstroke exercises, the ratio of a person's buttocks to the lower body will gradually become closer to streamlined, making the person's body more symmetrical and beautiful.
