Can I sleep after strenuous exercise?

Now there should be a lot of people who have joined the ranks of obesity, so weight loss exercises have become a daily necessity for many people. However, many people always lie down in bed and prepare to sleep immediately after strenuous exercise because they feel extremely tired. So, can you sleep immediately after strenuous exercise? What are the precautions? Let the editor take you to learn about it below!

1. It is not advisable to rest immediately. During strenuous exercise, a person's heart rate increases, muscles and capillaries expand, blood flow speeds up, and at the same time, the rhythmic contraction of muscles squeezes small veins, causing blood to flow back to the heart quickly. If you stop to rest immediately at this time, the rhythmic contraction of the muscles will also stop, and the large amount of blood that originally flowed into the muscles will not be able to flow back to the heart through muscle contraction, causing low blood pressure and temporary cerebral ischemia, leading to symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, pale complexion, and even shock and fainting. Therefore, after strenuous exercise, you should continue to do some light exercises and stop to rest after your breathing and heartbeat return to normal.

2. It is not advisable to take a bath immediately. In order to maintain a constant body temperature after strenuous exercise, the blood vessels on the surface of the skin dilate, the sweat pores open, and perspiration increases to facilitate heat dissipation. At this time, if you take a cold bath, the blood vessels will immediately contract due to sudden stimulation, the blood circulation resistance will increase, the heart and lung burden will increase, and the body's resistance will be reduced, making people prone to illness. However, if you take a hot bath, the blood flow in the skin will continue to increase, and too much blood will flow into the muscles and skin, leading to insufficient blood supply to the heart and brain. The mildest cases will cause dizziness, and the severest will suffer from collapse and shock. It is also easy to induce other chronic diseases. Therefore, you must rest for a while before taking a bath after strenuous exercise.

You should not go to bed immediately after strenuous exercise. You should make some adjustments after strenuous exercise. If you rest immediately, it can easily lead to temporary ischemia, and severe cases may even cause shock. At the same time, you should not take a shower immediately after strenuous exercise. In any case, you can take a shower after an hour.
