Is climbing stairs a quick way to lose weight?

Recently, the method of losing weight by climbing stairs has become very popular among female friends. It is mainly aimed at office workers who work in high-rise buildings every day. They can choose to climb stairs to lose weight when commuting to and from work, making clever use of time to lose weight, rather than squeezing out a certain amount of time every night to exercise. But some friends said that this weight loss method may take a long time to take effect. Let’s find out whether climbing stairs is a fast way to lose weight.

Climbing stairs is an aerobic exercise. Although the main part of the exercise is the thighs, when we move, the whole body can be exercised. Aerobic exercise burns sugar in the body, thereby consuming body fat to achieve the purpose of losing weight.

Although climbing stairs looks simple, the amount of exercise it provides is no less than running or playing tennis. Studies have found that the calories consumed by climbing stairs in the same amount of time is twice that of running and 1.5 times that of playing tennis. Therefore, the effect on weight loss is also quite obvious.

Although climbing stairs is simple, it also requires a certain amount of exercise and rules. It is best to keep the exercise time at about one hour every day. When you first start practicing, you may feel unbearable leg soreness. This is normal, so don't give up easily. If you persist for a few more days, the soreness will gradually disappear. Through long-term persistence, you will find that the lines of your legs and hips will change.

Someone conducted a survey and asked a group of women who worked in offices and rarely exercised to start by climbing 200 steps once a day, and then progress to climbing 6 times a day (they could take the elevator to go downstairs), each time for 2 minutes. In other words, each woman only needs to exercise for 12 minutes a day. In less than 2 months, this group of women found that their figures had improved a lot.

Through our understanding, we found that the seemingly simple weight loss method is actually quite effective and quick, but it requires strong willpower to persist in order to succeed. However, it is recommended that female friends wear heelless shoes or low-heeled shoes when climbing stairs to prevent accidents such as sprains when climbing stairs.
